Frequently Asked Questions
Can I share my trips with other people?
This is a planned premium feature for future releases. Currently, you can share trips via a shared cloud sync account, ICS calendar exports (Complete tier), or by creating and sharing encrypted local backups.
Why didn't you include an interactive map in the app?
An integrated map would force everyone to use Google Maps. Instead, you can open any location directly in your preferred map application via a link. This gives you the freedom to use Google Maps, Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, or any other navigation app you prefer.
Why can I not book flights, hotels, or activities through the app?
Booking integrations would require many third-party partnerships and sharing your data with booking platforms. This would reduce your independence and limit where you can book. We believe you should choose your preferred booking sites and keep your planning separate from commercial booking services.
Does Trabista support multiple currencies?
Currently, the app uses a single default currency that you choose in the settings. All expenses are tracked in this currency. Multi-currency support with automatic conversion is a planned feature for a future update.
Can I use Trabista for business travel and expense reports?
Yes. Trabista is well-suited for business travel. Track expenses by category, record who paid, and view detailed totals. While there's no built-in report export (yet), you can use the expense overview for manual reporting or share trip data via encrypted backups.
What languages does the app support?
Trabista is currently available in English and German. The contextual help system includes 160+ topics in both languages. Additional languages may be added based on user demand.
Can I import trips from other travel planning apps?
Not currently. Trabista doesn't have built-in import from other apps. You'll need to manually enter your trip details. However, the smart autocomplete features (Extended tier) can speed up data entry for accommodations and locations.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your local data stays on your device and isn't deleted. Cloud data (Complete tier) is retained for 1 year after your last login. You can delete your cloud account and all associated data directly from within the app before canceling. Canceling only removes access to tier-specific features—all your local trips and data remain intact.
Is there a limit on the number of trips I can create?
No. There are no limits on the number of trips you can create on any tier (Free, Extended, or Complete). Create as many trips as you need without restrictions.
Can I customize expense categories?
The app includes standard categories (accommodation, food, transport, activities, shopping). Category customization is planned for a future update based on user feedback.
What happens if I lose my phone?
If you enabled database encryption, your data is protected. Complete tier users with cloud sync can restore trips on a new device. All users can restore from encrypted backups if they created them before losing the device. We recommend creating regular encrypted backups and storing them securely.
Can I switch between subscription tiers?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade between Free, Extended, and Complete tiers at any time through the Google Play Store. Changes take effect immediately. Downgrading removes access to premium features, but your data remains intact.
Does Trabista work on tablets?
Yes. Trabista works on Android tablets running Android 10 or newer. The app adapts to larger screens for a better tablet experience.
